In the bucket!

Basketball was invented in 1891 in SpringfieldMassachusetts by Canadian physical education instructor James Naismith. It was a rainy, cold day and to keep students exercising indoors he hung two buckets and improvised a game where the two teams had to put the ball into the bucket. Since the next example they had in college was football, there was a lot of grappling and violence. That’s why today in Basketball not much physical contact is allowed — it is a foul to push your opponent. And it is the most astrophysical sport since players have to bounce the ball and launch it in a jump-shot where they must master the effects of the force of gravity to score a point. Until today NBA narrators say, “In the bucket!”
